On Friday, 17.11.2023, the Startup Day event took place in the premises of the Saša incubator and was attended by eighth graders from the Livada Primary School, Velenje. Together with their mentors, they ventured into the dynamic world of entrepreneurship, seeking new knowledge and new entrepreneurial ideas. The day was full of engaging content, fun and opportunities to step into the shoes of innovators.
After two interactive workshops with an entrepreneurial theme – The Basics of Entrepreneurship and How to Make a Persuasive Pitch, equipped with new knowledge and divided into nine teams, with the help of mentors, they came up with nine great entrepreneurial ideas. They also filmed promotional videos for each of the ideas and the event concluded with pitches in front of a panel of judges who selected the best in the three categories.

The event also conveyed an important message to primary school pupils not to be afraid to be different. Being different means living yourself, uniquely, creating something that has never been created before and contributing to shaping the world. All the best things in this world were created by brave people who stepped out of their comfort zone.
Nine great entrepreneurial ideas that saw the light of day at the Livada Primary School Startup Day:
Simplifier – an app that combines a planner and artificial intelligence to keep you perfectly organised.
WoofStop – dog food vending machines connected to an app that reports the location of vending machines around the world.
Kabiti – personalised phone covers with excellent drop protection.
ADD blocker – an app that allows you to remove ads within the apps you use.
Trashcan – a bin that makes litter fun, as young people have fun by throwing litter through a basketball hoop into the bin.
Ulti Brush – a functional hair brush, with built-in dry shampoo, gel and hair iron.
Chicken – an app with recipes from the most famous chefs and restaurants.
SOS app – an app to call for help even when your phone stops working.
Safety key Chain – a self-defence device with a button that directly calls for help.
Dear young creators, innovators, daredevils and daredevils, you may not always be immediately accepted or understood, but that does not mean that your path is not the right one. No one else is walking in your shoes and every step you take towards your dreams is a step towards your potential.
